Very dark red, so much so that little light escapes. Dusty and a little stemmy on the aroma. Oddly watery flavor with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Really not much to this. This wouldn't be anywhere near as disappointing if it didn't say Barons de Rothschild on the side. It's really not that great.

External Reviews for Château d'Aussieres Syrah Blend Corbières a d'Aussieres
Chateau d'Aussieres is the result of very strict selection policy harvesting grapes only from the best parcels in the vineyard. A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Carignan it is produced in limited quantities. 40% of the wine is aged in oak barrels between 12 and 16 months.Chateau d'Aussi?res is a wine of density and exceptional finesse which fully express the richness of the late-ripening and cool terroir that is perfect for producing elegant wines.
The weather in the Languedoc in 2005 was normal for the region. Bitterly cold, windy weather lasted until mid-spring. In summer, the seasonal averages were as usual and we were spared the heavy rains that hit the Mediterranean coast in early September. Colour: Very lovely intense dark red. Nose: Very open, expressive nose showing a complexity of aromas from each grape variety, together with notes of cedar wood, cherries and spices. Palate: Full and supple on the front palate, with lots of fresh fruit flavours backed up with fine, ripe tannins. Good length and a finish that shows the characteristic elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.
