Château d'Angludet Red Bordeaux Blend Margaux 2011
- Show All (53)
0/5 Well past its prime. More than just a tinge of brown. Thin, lacks structure, taste of ripe olives, little fruit left.
Very classy outfit, Angludet. Just missed out on Grand Cru status in 1855 (or whenever) and although described as Cru Bourgeois, their stuff is excellent. The 1989 is smooth and (if it's been kept well) drinking very well still. Quite expensiver, but worth it for a special occasion. I recommend the vineyard for a visit if you're in teh area.
Lovely mature Margaux. Still deep and smooth, with an elegant high-note on the nose. Drink now.
For a chateau famous for its long lived, power ballad wines I was a little dissapointed with this effort. Whilst I considered it a perfectly acceptable Claret which would handsomely accompany a solid meal it offered little more than muted fruits and a soft, unspectacular finish which left no real impression on my palatte. I was given the impression overall that had I opened the wine 5 years earlier it would have been a different story but much like so many of the better vintages from the 1970's this wine has definatley not improved past 30 years of age.

Smooth with balanced oak and a fine finish. Serve : Serve at 17-18c with Red or white meat, poultry, mild cheese ABV : 13%
Dunkles lebhaftes Purpurrot. Fruchtbetontes Bouquet (schwarze Beeren, Pflaumen) mit dezenter Eichenholznote und einer Spur Vanille. Am Gaumen samtig mit festem Tannin.
The 2000 is an uncompromising, traditional claret, displaying a deep ruby color and a nose of cedar, damp earth, plums, and currants. Medium to full-bodied, solidly tannic, and attractive, it will age well for 10-15 years. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2017.
