Bright ruby-red. Jammy exotic aromas of black raspberry and smoke; wild and slightly high-toned in a syrah way. Dense sweet and layered with lovely saline complexity to the ripe black raspberry flavor. Finishes sweet plush and very long with smooth tannins and plenty of early sex appeal. Stephen Tanzers IWC.

Château Canon-la-Gaffelière (formerly La Gaffelière- Boitard), has been recognised for centuries as one of the finest growths in Saint-Emilion. Count von Neipperg, scion of a family with eight centuries of winegrowing tradition, bought this estate in 1971. His son Stephan is currently in charge of managing the estate. A renaissance has since occurred at Canon-la-Gaffelière after several years of major efforts involving large-scale investments. All of this has been done with an indepth understanding of the special nature of the soil. The wine is made in an ultra-modern vat room with wooden fermenting vats. Château Canon-la-Gaffelière is very deep in colour with excellent concentration, intense fruity flavours and ripe tannin. It is both full-bodied and elegant with fine ageing potential. Each new vintage reveals a different facet of this wine's marvellously complex personality

A pretty and juicy wine, with fine and prevalent tannins. Medium-bodied, with chewy tannins and a medium finish. Lacks a center palate Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Chateau D'Aiguilhe Querre 750ml

Tiny yields of 20 hectoliters per hectare have produced a wine with terrific fruit intensity, a moderately tannic structure, and hints of chocolate, cedar, spice box, and earth. Although not as big as I expected given the vintage, it is well-made and... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Chateau dAiguilhe 750ml

Spearmint, vanilla bean and dried dark fruits on the nose follow through to a full body, with silky tannins and a fruity finish. Still in reserve, but excellent Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Chateau d'Aiguilhe 750ml

Winemaker's Notes:

94-97 points Wine Spectator: The Cabernet Franc really comes out here, with roasted berry, coffee bean and citrus following through to blackberry. Full-bodied, with fabulous concentration of fruit and supersoft tannins, a long, long finish. This is so juicy and wonderful. No dry tannins here. (2010)
