Château D´armailhac 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

*2012 Bordeaux Future. Delivery Fall 2015.*A stronger effort than its stablemate, Clerc-Milon, the 2012 d’Armailhac is an intriguing blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Complex notes of menthol, coffee beans, black cherries and black currants are followed by a rich, medium-bodied wine with copious tannin as well as sufficient fat and flesh to cover the structure. *This excellent Pauillac is a successful Medoc* in this challenging vintage for this region.Robert Parker Wine Advocate (89-91)*We will notify you on arrival. Summer 2015.*

A bit funky on the nose with bushy dried herbs, gravel, and dark fruit aromatics that are attractively fresh. Tight on entry, this classic Bordeaux, a bit of over ripeness lends its truffle note here but this has structure and rich fruit, if being slightly one dimensional in the mouth today. The backend shows more intensity with black fruit that shows some and mineral notes leading to a powerfully fruity, but not frooty finish. This is a bit short today but you can feel the substance and promise in the mouth. 91pts
