Some riper fruit notes remain, but it's more filled with darker, dried red and black fruits, sassafras, cola, and musty, earthy notes of soil and some funk. It's got good acid/tannin balance still and is nicely layered and went nicely with food. Drink soon. 88 pts. 7/5/12

What a find!!! This is the second label of Classified Bordeaux, Cos Labory. Cos Labory is well situated. Its neighbors are Cos D'Estournel on one side and Lafite Rothschild just down the road. This beautifully made wine, a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, aged in oak barrels (30% new) for 12 months. In the great 2000 vintage this wine is as glorious and intense as most chateaux first label wines. Once we tasted it we purchased the entire U.S. allocation and our customers have been enjoying it immensely ever since. Now On SALE!Tasting Notes:
Deep color and density, aromas of black currants and lead pencil
Medium to full-bodied, soft but well defined with red and black fruit crushed stones and aged leather notes on the palate.
Hints of smoke and supple tannins on the finish boosted by a mild, pleasant acidity Food Pairings: Grilled Steak, Rack of Lamb, Venison Loin, Aged Cheeses Wine Advocate Vintage Rating: 96 Wine Spectator Vintage Rating: 99 not sponsored by or affiliated with The Wine Spectator or The Wine Advocate</> This item excluded from any other discounts or offers beyond the 15% case discount.
