Old vines have been planted on sandy-loam soil rich with minerals. This has added an extra dimension to the wine, giving it fine aromatics, a deep colour and luscious plum and black fruit flavours.

The Boidron family have been involved in wine production in the Bordeaux region since 1760 They now own a number of properties including Chateau Cantelauze in Pomerol, Chateau Fonguillon in Montagne Saint Emilion  and Chateau Calon in Montagne Saint Emiliob totasling 70 hectares. Rich, oaky nose, splendid fruit. Fairly rich, fine texture, has freshness as well as concentration, graceful and balanced, good length. 20-30 years.
