Cherries, barnyard funk and loads of black pepper on the nose. Great, fun wine with a lot of character. Some licorice and blackberries, and a mild finish.
Some great vegetal notes laced with ripe red fruit. This would be paired nicely with lighter red meat dishes and/or some funky cheeses.
Lively but full, long finish, paired with beamster cheese and josephs homemade sausage, which, truth be told, was barely adequate. the wine more than compensated. plus, it is from the hometown of one of our best friends.
