Château Clinet Red Bordeaux Blend Pomerol 1995

Winemaker's Notes:

As recent vintages have tended to be, the 2004 Clinet is a strong effort. Its dark purple color is followed by classic aromas and flavors of truffles, mocha, espresso roast, plums, jammy black cherries, and darker fruits. Medium-bodied and ripe with light to moderate tannin, it should drink nicely for 10-15 years.

Another extraordinary wine made in a backward vin de garde style the 1995 Clinet represents the essence of Pomerol. The blackberry cassis liqueur-like fruit of this wine is awesome...extremely full-bodied and powerful with layers of glycerin-imbued fruit massive richness plenty of licorice blackberry and cassis flavors full body and a thick unctuous texture. This is a dense impressive offering... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.

Blockbuster. The essence of berry cherry and tobacco character. Full-bodied and very tannic yet incredibly opulent. Long aftertaste of smoke game chocolate and fruit... Wine Spectator.
