Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

The finest second wine yet made at Cheval Blanc, the 2008 Le Petit Cheval is a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc. Elegant, soft, and richly fruity, it offers up hints of wood spice, forest floor, flowers, and black fruits. With sweet tannin ... Robert Parker. In time, the profound 2008 Cheval Blanc will rank alongside this estate's great successes of 2005, 2000, and 1998. A harvest that began at the end of September and concluded October 19 has produced a wine with the 1998's complexity and the power of t... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. This isn't shy about letting a tobacco leaf note weave in and out, while the core of red currant, damson plum and bitter cherry grows and fleshes out as this airs. The long finish lets mineral, red licorice and mesquite check in as well. Shows ... Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2008 Cheval Blanc 750ml

The present-day Cheval Blanc vineyards had vines at least as far back as the 18th century, as shown by Belleyme's map of the region dated 1764. Nearly a century later, the estate was acquired by the Fourcaud- Laussac family, who owned it until 1998, when it was sold to Mr Bernard Arnault and Baron Albert Frère. The vineyard is in a single block, and borders on the Pomerol appellation. An outstanding terroir and unusual proportions of Cabernet Franc and Merlot give this great wine an absolutely unique flavour. Chateau Cheval Blanc has had a greater number of outstanding vintages than any other classified great growth over the past century.Another unusual characteristic of Cheval Blanc is that once it reaches its peak, it maintains it for a very long time. This admirable wine is powerful, soft, rich, round and silky. It has tremendous fruit and elegance as well as exceptional quality from year to year. This timeless and superb wine is like no other.
