Chateau Chantelys Medoc Cru Bourgeois 2010

External Review by WineExpress.com:

Located on the slopes of one of the highest hills of the Prignac region of the Medoc, Chateau Chantelys ' vineyards alternate limestone and clay veins covered with sandy-clay soils. These soils bring strength and vigor to the wines. The vines average 35 years of age and are densely planted to limit yields. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon with a high proportion (60%), 30% Merlot and 10% Petite Verdot make up the blend. 2010 was a historic vintage in Bordeaux and the wine shows the rich character of the vintage. Aged 15 months in oak barrels the wine has garnet color, its nose of black fruits tinged with a notes of anise and black currants. Good fruit, delightful balance, fine and elegant with harmonious tannins surrounding the black currant, blackberry fruit. Anise spice, cedar and berries linger on the finish. Super value!

Wine Enthusiast Magazine made it an Editors' Choice scoring it 91 points and saying "This is a fruity, Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated wine, with tannins that support and balance the black currant flavor. Wood aging lightly brushes the structure."
