Château Chante Alouette:
Château Chante-Alouette was taken over in 1995 by the Guy d’Arfeuille family, which owned other estates in the Libourne area, so the latest acquisition was able to benefit from the experience of its older cousins. Benoît d’Arfeuille gave a new lease of life to this estate by increasing the size of the vineyard and by introducing winemaking methods that married tradition and the latest technology.

The Cote De Blaye is on the north bank of the Gironde River in Bordeaux, and is often the source of great value wines. The Chacirc;teau Chante-Alouette is a delightful wine containing 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 2% Malbec. Matured during the long, hot summer of 2003, from vines of 20 years average age, it is a young, delicious wine. Garnet color; aromas of ripe, dark cherry, plum and cassis; flavors of berry and cocoa. It has good weight and structure, chewy texture, a smooth mouthfeel and a long, lingering finish. Enjoy with roast lamb, steak or meatloaf. Decant when serving now and set some aside for the next five years. This wine sings!

Featuring Merlot grown on calcium-rich clay soils, this small, fourth generation family winery was able to produce outstanding wine, its vineyards better equipped than most to tolerate the incredible heat of the 2003 vintage. This Bordeaux is dense and serious, but features bright raspberry and cherry flavors, more intense and supple than usual for the area.

An unusually proportioned blend (even featuring a little Malbec) creates a wine with fantastic color and bright raspberry and cherry flavors. It is more intense and supple than usual for the area.
