Chateau de Cantin is a 15th century wine estate in St. Emilion in Bordeaux, France. The estate was purchased in 1999 by Jean Leprince. The name comes from the body of water at the foot of the estate, called Cantin (derived from the Latin “cantio,” meaning “song” or “enchantment”), which circulates cool air and protects grapes from frost. The grapes are grown in clay and limestone soils, with excellent sun exposure and natural drainage. This produces balanced fruit with excellent aging potential. The wine is produced from a blend of mostly Merlot, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon.  Read less
Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
