External Reviews for Château Cantenac St.-Emilion
Subtle aromas of blackberry and vanilla. Medium- to full-bodied, with a solid core of silky tannins. Long and caressing. Very fresh, almost tart. An estate going places. Best after 2009. 12,500 cases made. (JS) Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2000 Brane-Cantenac 750ml
Cantenac is a reasonably priced St.-Emilion, a commodity that is increasingly difficult to find. While not complex, it is a fruit-driven, fat, ripe, in-your-face effort that will provide tasty drinking over the next 5ndash;6 years.

Fully mature and very attractive, the 2000 Brane Cantenac, which started a succession of brilliant wines from this famous estate in the Margaux appellation, has a dark plum/ruby/purple color, a sweet, juicy nose of blue, red, and black fruits, and a hint of damp earth as well as subtle herbs. Spicy, round, complex, very lush, and at its plateau of maturity, this wine should continue to drink well for another 10-15 years at minimum. This is Margaux elegance and silkiness at its very best.
A solid chunky structure is the hallmark of this big wine. The fruit is black full of dark tannins. Perhaps it lacks subtlety but that is replaced with great power and potential. Wine Enthusiast.
A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2000 Le Baron de Brane 750ml
Undeniably the finest Brane-Cantenac in 40-50 years the deep ruby/purple-colored 2000 s beautiful aromatics of smoke black currants tobacco earth and flowers jump from the glass. In the mouth it is pure elegant medium-bodied with savory tannin and adequate acidity and a measured yet authoritatively flavored mid-palate and finish... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
