Château Cantemerle Red Bordeaux Blend Haut-Médoc 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

Berry Bros & Rudd review:<br/>Ch. Cantemerle has fashioned a robust, serious Claret for the 2004 vintage. Moderately tannic, medium-bodied with good structure, purity, and balance, it opens with a subtle nose of licorice and black currants. Hints of menthol, black cherries, cranberries, and blueberries emerge on the palate. It possesses intense flavours and has the potential to develop further.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

A lighter style with highly appealing crisp, juicy fruit and a long finish. Has many years to run yet.

I would not keep this wine longer. Very smooth and delicate couldn't stand the christmas dinner... Some cranberries and vanilia on the nose and the palate very soft with fleeting tannins.
