This is well-cloaked for now in roasted vanilla and espresso notes ... Best from 2015 through 2030. -JM

Straight down the line, this wine shows fruit and acidity. The tannins are relatively soft while the fruit is forward. Blackberries, coffee and licorice notes all come together. R.V. Wine Enthusiast. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Canon la Gaffeliere 750ml

Bright ruby-red. Jammy, exotic aromas of black raspberry and smoke; wild and slightly high-toned in a syrah way. Dense, sweet and layered, with lovely saline complexity to the ripe black raspberry flavor. Finishes sweet, plush and very long, with ... Stephen Tanzers IWC. Tiny yields of 20 hectoliters per hectare have produced a wine with terrific fruit intensity, a moderately tannic structure, and hints of chocolate, cedar, spice box, and earth. Although not as big as I expected given the vintage, it is well-made and... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Chateau dAiguilhe 750ml

One of the peculiarities of St.-Émilion's classification is that Canon la Gaffelière is not classed in the top rung. Because, as this wine shows, it produces superb wines. This is ripe while so elegant, with great intensity and sweet perfumes. Wine Enthusiast. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Canon la Gaffeliere 750ml

Château Canon-la-Gaffelière (formerly La Gaffelière- Boitard), has been recognised for centuries as one of the finest growths in Saint-Emilion. Count von Neipperg, scion of a family with eight centuries of winegrowing tradition, bought this estate in 1971. His son Stephan is currently in charge of managing the estate. A renaissance has since occurred at Canon-la-Gaffelière after several years of major efforts involving large-scale investments. All of this has been done with an indepth understanding of the special nature of the soil. The wine is made in an ultra-modern vat room with wooden fermenting vats. Château Canon-la-Gaffelière is very deep in colour with excellent concentration, intense fruity flavours and ripe tannin. It is both full-bodied and elegant with fine ageing potential. Each new vintage reveals a different facet of this wine's marvellously complex personality
