This Cru Bourgeois (Haut-Medoc) is dark red - almost tenturier-like in depth. On the nose there is blackberry, cassis and cedar bark with a hint of menthol. En bouche, the red fruit is forward with good mouth-feel (round) and grip. Tannin is well in evidence but not overpowering making this wine very enjoyable now. Medium long finish. Drink now through 2017. 90 points.
Bottled aired about 2 hrs. Nose of hints of smoke, mineral, floral, red fruit. In the mouth chewy savory slightly smoky woody earth, mineral, and fruit in roughly equal proportion and somewhat tannic. Dry, Body medium minus, acid medium minus, tannin medium plus. Tasty and ok to drink now with good decanting. 50% merlot, 30% cab sauv, 18% cab franc, 2% petit verdot.
It combined the best of old and new world flavors. I'm not sure if it's just the 2005's or what, but I loved this wine, and thought it could pass as a much more expensive variety. Very velvety.

Another of my favorite estates from the southern part of the Medoc, Macau, this Haut-Medoc cru bourgeois is a blend of 54% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot. Pretty aromas of currant and berries, with a mineral undertone. Medium-bodied, with firm tannins and a fruity finish. Nice wood under it all. Well-crafted young red. Could be best ever from here Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2009 Cambon la Pelouse 750ml
