Smokey, brushfire, vegetal red pepper and dried ancho chili, a bit of tarry oak, some black fruit, black shoe polish, a bit charry and leathery yet this has decent complexity. Plenty of acid up front here with tannis that veer to the woody side, this is a touch drying with some wild berry fruit tones built around an earthy, typically Bordelaise frame. It's got decent depth and actually has a solid finish with good length and incipient complexity. Not a show stopper but a good value at this price point exhibiting a touch of elegance. I am really quite impressed with the finish with its lovely currant finale. 85pts

It was very enjoyable. I could distinguish several different flavors which is unusual for me. It had some oak, vanilla, and dark cherry flavors. Tasted like a good $40.00 bottle

Red fruits and petroleum on the nose. The fruit is very dark and sits right before the tannic finish.

Diesel nose with leather and cherry aromas. Slightly vegetal and green, with a subtle straw flavor. Cherries and licorice dominate, and the finish is anise and even chocolate. Overall its quite extracted, yet seems lean.

Lots of oak, cedar and wood on the nose. Dry with dusty tannins, still young and not ready. Fruits are of black cherry, blackberry and figs. Finishes on tannins and cocoa.

No fruits on this red for me. Chemicals dominate the nose. Tar to be specific. Acidic and tar on the tale. Not bad.

2003 was an atypically hot year across Europe. This resulted in some less renowned wine areas being able to make some atypically great wine at a great price. I've found some great values from Bordeaux Superior, such as the Chateau Cadillac, with its aromatic intensity, delicious (yet restrained) fruit, and perfect balance. At 80% Merlot, you can compare it to a $20 Right Bank Bordeaux from a "normal" vintage.

The owner of LEDA (L'Expression de L'Authentique), Jean-Jacques Lesgourgues, has spared no expense in establishing a state of the art winery, with individual temperature, controlled stainless steel tanks for fermentation. His wine is a beautiful expression of Merlot-dominated Bordeaux, smooth and elegant, delivering a taste experience equivalent to wine three times the price.

This top cuvée from Château Cadillac has great fresh black currant fruits, dark plum skins and sweet tannins. It is also very obviously aged in wood, and this element needs to calm down. Wait another year, or decant now.
