Château Brane-Cantenac Red Bordeaux Blend Margaux 2000

Winemaker's Notes:

Clos Cantenac:
Small & charming winery of 3 hectares. Also owners of Château de Sours. Martin Krajewski is the owner. Only two wines are poroduced : Clos Cantenac, Petit Cantenac.    PS : snooth seem to mix up Clos Cantenac and Château Cantenac that are different wineries.

Rather aged - earthy and leathery. Some nice, but faded, fruit still. A soft finish - very earthy. Well aged. Still a decent wine, but getting rather mature.

Creamy blackcurrant fruit and cedar wood. A very long finish. This earned the tags of elegant, textbook Bordeaux, classic and . . . well, ‘utterly gorgeous’

Subtle aromas of blackberry and vanilla. Medium- to full-bodied, with a solid core of silky tannins. Long and caressing. Very fresh, almost tart. An estate going places. Best after 2009. 12,500 cases made. (JS) Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2000 Brane-Cantenac 750ml

Fully mature and very attractive, the 2000 Brane Cantenac, which started a succession of brilliant wines from this famous estate in the Margaux appellation, has a dark plum/ruby/purple color, a sweet, juicy nose of blue, red, and black fruits, and a hint of damp earth as well as subtle herbs. Spicy, round, complex, very lush, and at its plateau of maturity, this wine should continue to drink well for another 10-15 years at minimum. This is Margaux elegance and silkiness at its very best.
