Château Boutisse Red Bordeaux Blend St. Émilion Grand Cru 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

91-94 points Wine Spectator: Very fresh, showing enticing plum, currant and boysenberry fruit, with lots of mouthwatering minerality and a long, spice-filled finish. Dense but pure. A suave wine in the making. (2011)

Well-balanced, elegant wine. Cherries, black berries, and spice.

I received this wine with open doors, red carpet and all of the glamour, I come to expect from Bordeaux wines. Lets first talk about price, this is the Honda of Bordeaux. Amazing price, and flavor that goes a long way regardless of the social event or just dinner for two on a Tuesday night. I purchased it at a local store in NJ, last year and when I had it, I was blown away. Fantastic blood like red color, a bit of cherry and very firm tannins, a bit of chocolate somewhere in the back. I think of the wine as a silky smooth blend. I strongly believe that this vineyard needs to have a lot more exposure. I paid $25 for the bottle, but I can tell you that they can drive the price to at the very least double with no problem. Once you had it, you will buy a case. In my area is hard to get, so I bought 2 cases, this wine will only get better with time.

2000 bordeaux, what else do you need? amazing QPR. Very dry tannins. nice full mid-palate. I taste cherries on the finish. Decant for at least 3 hours and don't touch it a minute before.

Purchased in 1996, Chateau Boutisse is the Milhade flagship estate. It is located in the commune of Saint Christophe des Bardes, one of the top communes in AC St-Emilion. It is a relatively large estate for St-Emilion with 23 hectares, mainly planted with Merlot. Huge investments have been poured into the vineyards since 1996 with several parcels of vines being completely replanted. Chateau Boutisse possesses excellent terroir; when the soil was ripped and prepared for planting, large chunks of the recherché limestone were visible under the chalky clay topsoil. Furthermore, certain parcels have excellent southern exposure whilst others are planted on gentle slopes. Grapes : 70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon Region : France / Bordeaux / St Emilion Grand Cru AOC Maker : Marc Milhade Notes : A warm, intense bouquet of mocha and sweet spices. The palate shows full body with fine yet firm tannins, explosive black cherry fruit, all encased in the subtle vanillin flavours of new oak. Serve : At room temperature with roasted and grilled meat dishes and assorted cheeses. ABV : 13.5%

A strong effort for this fairly-priced cuvandeacute;e, the 2008 is one of the finest wines I have tasted from Boutisse. Displaying spicy oak, tobacco leaf, licorice, and smoky elements intermixed with sweet red and black currant fruit, this ripe, round, generous St.-Emilion is ideal for drinking during its first 12andndash;15 years of life.

This is a ripe, fleshy, toasty, modern-style version, boasting rich layers of raspberry ganache, crushed plum and boysenberry fruit, held together by stylish, fine-grained structure. Extra spice, anise and graphite notes fill in on the finish. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink now through 2016.
