I found this one currently at K & L wines for $29.99 Tight out of the bottle, nose of red fruits, spice, oak, with good acidity and tannins. After decanting for 2+ hours this wine really opened up, and started to show off its class and elegance. It become more integrated and refined. Real pretty floral fruits and well structured with good length. A bit classic /old school, and A real joy to drink.

Slightly more restrained nose than the Beychevelle. Bright acidity, but not sour. Concentrated, but not as much. Lively. Silky. Red berries. Tannic. $40

Very nice, supple bottle. The balance is really spot on, and hints of chocolate and ripe blackberry make this a delightful experience. Light floral notes on the nose. Light Tannins and medium long developing finish.

Pours a medium Violet color with some light reddish rust hues on the edges. Lots of dark fruit, vanilla, oak and some leather flavors but the dark fruit is most prevalent. Starts off with lots of blackberries, plums, currants and dark cherries. In the middle it is blended nicely with some undertones of vanilla. Finishes just like the middle. This is a very well balanced wine with lots of berries and vanilla. The tannins have subsided a bit and this is drinking rather well right now.

Deep purple core with red to the rim. The nose opens with roasted cherry, dark chocolate and wet rock, giving way to cassis and black tea as well as a lovely floral note of violet or lavender. The palate is focused with expressions of red currant, ... Jeff Loo. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2006 Bourgneuf, Chateau 1500ml

This estate has been producing fine robust, concentrated wines. While they may ultimately lack complexity, the exuberant display of density, muscle and richness are impressive. The 1996 has turned out well, although it is somewhat monolithic. The color is saturated ruby/plum. The wine has an earthy, black cherry, licorice, and dried herb-scented nose, medium to full body, and muscular, concentrated flavors with moderately high tannins. It is a mouth-filling, robust Pomerol to drink between 2000ndash;2012.

This wine should be watched carefully after bottling as it could turn out to be an outstanding effort from Bourgneuf. It is a breakthrough wine for this estate. The opaque purple color, intense, old vine richness and inner-core of fruit and glycerin are admirable. Full-bodied, marvelously concentrated and exceptionally ripe, with a late harvest-like note, this huge, massive wine is atypical for this chacirc;teau. Have they really produced something well above the norm? Stay tuned. Anticipated maturity: 2002ndash;2017.

Dense ruby/purple, with an attractive, broad, plump nose of plums, raisins, prunes, black cherries, and some dusty earth notes, well-made, medium to full-bodied, with considerable corpulence, flesh, and structure, this is a denser, slightly more tannic wine than the 2001, but big, burly, and showing more finesse than it did prior to bottling. Anticipated maturity: 2007ndash;2018.

Impressive for this estate. Intense aromas of blackberries, cherries, pepper and tar. Full-bodied and very tannic, with a velvety texture and a long, intensely fruity, coffee-flavored aftertaste. Mouth puckering. A big and powerful red. Best after 2002.
