Winemaker's Notes:

This 75% Cabernet Sauvignon from the famed Oakville appellation and 15% Merlot from Howell Mountain represents the latest blend for our Cuvee bottling. Barrel aged in one hundred percent new French oak barrels for 19 months, this wine has tremendous opulence and massive body, yet like our previous efforts retains a sense of balance and overall harmony. This four barrel blend has come together to offer notes of vanilla, coffee, and blackberries on the nose leading to the core of pure and rich fruit.

In 1979 R. Thornton Boswell founded Chateau Boswell and under the direction of André Tchelistcheff began producing Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. In 1997 Susan and RT Boswell planted the estate hillside vineyard in virgin soils that continue to be maintained organically. The Chateau Boswell caves, 65 feet below the estate hillside vineyard, were designed by Susan to green building specifications with the desire to continue to be responsible stewards of the land, reducing the impact upon the environment through green business practices which reduce energy and water use. As the first certified Napa Green Winery, Chateau Boswell continues to preserve and protect the Napa Valley through their practices and through their active participation in support of sustainable initiatives. At Chateau Boswell we remain committed to our philosophy of zero compromise winemaking of small lot premium wines that display the unique characteristics of their vineyard sources through old world low intervention winemaking techniques.
