External Reviews for Chateau Bonnet Blanc Entre-Deux-Mers
Vintner and Bordeaux ambassador for fifty years, Andre Lurton has never produced a wine that didn’t express the unique terrior of Bordeaux along with best modern wine making techniques. Lurton’s Chateau Bonnet is located in the Entre-Deux-Mers region between the Bordeaux rivers. The soil is clay and limestone that’s ideal for the white varietals of Bordeaux. The blend is 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon and 10% Muscadelle, all for vines averaging 19 years old. The wine is fermented slowly and then matures for four months in tank on the lees. This gives the wine a rich texture and a fine complexity. A perpetual "Best Buy' this Bonnet Blanc from the outstanding 2009 vintage, has lively acidity and distinct grapefruit and citrus notes. It’s a wine that rivals whites selling for twice the price.
The wine is pale yellow, tinged with green and silver. The aromas are of lemon and lemon curd, floral, flinty; very typical of Bordeaux Sauvingon Blanc. It's a fruity wine, tasting of passion fruit, grapefruit, and lemon.
