Bold black currant and licorice flavors are highlighted by rich smoke in this yummy andrsquo;09 Bordeaux Superieur. Drink with lamb shanks or duck confit.
A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec, this Bordeaux is really well made. It has depth and structure with a great balance of dark berries and peppery spice. I was greatly impressed by the way it evolved in the glass with layers of fruit and firm tannins. This bargain wine is drinking beautifully now, but will age well for another 5 years or more.
