This petit chateau was a sneak preview for the local 2007 Bordeaux Release officially due next weekend. Though not quite as structured as the 2005, this modern Haut-Medoc wine is cherry-black and redolent of coffee, cola, Western Red Cedar smoke and crushed blackberry. These appealing scents couple nicely with a slight acerbity on entry - but no forward tannin to speak of. Finish is medium and warm. Easy drinking, though strongly flavored. Petit Verdot and Carmenere in the blend.
Very bitter when first opened. It mellowed after about an hour, but was very boring. Absent of fruit.
