Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

This petit chateau was a sneak preview for the local 2007 Bordeaux Release officially due next weekend. Though not quite as structured as the 2005, this modern Haut-Medoc wine is cherry-black and redolent of coffee, cola, Western Red Cedar smoke and crushed blackberry. These appealing scents couple nicely with a slight acerbity on entry - but no forward tannin to speak of. Finish is medium and warm. Easy drinking, though strongly flavored. Petit Verdot and Carmenere in the blend.

Very bitter when first opened. It mellowed after about an hour, but was very boring. Absent of fruit.

A delicious blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and a whopping 20% Petit Verdot, this estate continues to over-perform its humble pedigree. The 2007 reveals dense, smoky, black cherry and raspberry notes intermixed with a hint of loamy soil ... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate.
