The first few sips weren't that great, but once the edgy tannins and high alcohol part away on the palette, it reveals an inner delicacy and complexity, with mild plum, mineral, and grasses.
Slightly hot nose of berries and pepper. Palate is fruit forward but slightly rough around the edges. Tastes of blackberries. Harsh tannins. I'd call it a solid wine but nothing special.

Ch. Beaumont is produced in a classic style. There are 105 hectares of vineyard planted on well drained, deep and gravelly soils. The vineyard is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), with 35% Merlot and the balance Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. This wine shows plump, ripe fruit and a great structure.
