Food Pairings for Château Beaulieu Comtes de Tastes
A well-respected Entre-Deux Mers estate, Chateau Beaulieu hits above its station with excellent colour and fine aromas of crushed cherry and spice. There is some residual tannin on the mid-palate but the mouth-feel is round, balanced and satisfying - if not particularly complex or deep (lacks just a bit of grip, but it is there). Ready to drink now and over the next 2-3 years. Excellent value in top-shelf Bordeaux Supérieur - somewhat like a St-Emilion in finish. 89 points.

June 2012, ready to drink. A very pleasant Bordeaux for the price. Crushed berries framed by medium tannins and a nice evolution with earthy notes and chocolate powder. I am having it with filet mignon.
12/12/2009: drinking fine but the time to air and the tannins make me think this would be better in about another 3-5 years. Decent acid, tannins present, not overwhelming but not light. fairly classic bordeaux taste of the earthy plum, blackberry. still reasonable fruit. Other reviews have talked about the nose, this nose was dead, nothing there but suprisingly the wine drank well. Given the price, this was a super bargain. wish I'd put a case away rather than just a few.
