Chateau Beau-Site Cru Bourgeois Saint-Estephe Heritiers Casteja Proprietaire 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

Chateau Beau-Site is a Cru Bourgeois in Saint-Estèphe Beau-Site means Beautiful Site: Chateau Beau-Site is Chateau Calon-Ségur’s neighbour, situated on one of the Medoc’s highest points overlooking the Gironde Estuary. Its 18th century underground cellar is one of the oldest in Medoc and presents the perfect maturing conditions for a wine that is vinified with the same care and technique as a Grand Cru Classé. Beau-Site’s wine is full of power and temperament, a typical Saint-Estèphe with enough ripe tannins to allow stocking for many years. Chateau Beau-Site has been awarded many prizes and medals in its long history. Chateau Beau-Site has a second wine called: Chateau Haut Vignoble Seguin.

Tasting Notes:

Chateau Beau-Site 2008 is a very classic vintage of the chateau and a racy Saint-Estèphe with blackcurrant aromas of the Cabernet Sauvignon, cedar, cherry and blackberry, graphite, coffee, chocolate. It is deep red, elegant on the palate, with a good freshness and an aromatic complexity, masculine with fruity tones and a long finish.
