The Bastor-Lamontagne Estate belonged in 1711 to the King of France, the succession in Guyenne to the king of England. On 16th July 1711 it was ceded to Vincent de Ia Montaigne, a counsellor at the Bordeaux parliament. On the map drawn up by Belleyme at the end of the 18th century, "BASTORE" represented at that time a large estate, which had already begun wine-growing, even if in general much of the estate’s activity was based on mixed farming. The real wine-growing era began in the 19th century when the LARRIEU family, and in particular Amédée Larrieu, who was already the owner of Chateau Haut Brion in PESSAC, took over the estate. Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

A bright, floral style, offering friendly peach, apricot and tangerine notes, with a floral-tinged finish. This open-knit version should be ready to go when bottled.-J.M. Wine Spectator. A Sauternes Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2011 Bastor-Lamontagne 750ml

It s a little short but I am impressed with the character of dried oranges pineapple and spices. It full and round with good acidity and a freshness. James Suckling.

80% semillon 20% sauvignon blanc. 30% new oak. Planted to gravel and gravel-clay soils. An exuberant texture creamy and rich comes back to a light and fresh finish showing moderate depth and length followed by spice and toasted coconut on the finish. Enjoy through 2025. Geoffrey Binder.

Lots of caramel and apple aromas follow through to a full-bodied palate with medium sweetness and a long finish. All in finesse. Wine Spectator.
