Purplish rim on black/crimson. Reticent now and then opens out to some sandpapery oak. Very dense. Quite a different style from La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion: denser, stricter, tighter - much more an expression of the vintage. Tough, inky finish. Very dry and a bit hollow.
