- "The 'wine of the vintage'...boasts a provocative, floral, perfume of crushed stone, raspberries, blackberries, creme de cassis, licorice, and smoke. What makes it so sensational are the layers of flavor and nuances that unfold as the wine sits in the glass as well as on the palate. An extraordinarily intense effort, but remarkably elegant and well balanced...98." WA 6/04.

- Very, very deep, thick purple. Deeply scented, wild black fruits on the nose. Not especially intense, but very well done. Quite painful acidity. Less charming than 2000, but very chewy. Correct. Very, very dry end.
