Chateau Argadens Bordeaux Blanc 2017

Member Review by zufrieden:

The 2015 edition of the Argadens Blanc has a rich, spicy star and passion fruit nose with a hint of Sauvignon Blanc smoke and grass; on the palate, there is tropical fruit on a smooth, rainwater finish. Less depth than 2014, but perhaps easier drinking... excellent value. 89.

The Chateau D'argadens (blanc) 2014 is a wonderful expression of Bordeaux; the grassy (mown lawn) scent, and the muted gooseberry flavors on the palate are elegant and show a bit of pedigree. For the price, the Sauvignon Blanc-dominated wine is very good; highly recommended if you can find it. Very clean - although the musky element of the flavour profile is powerful. 88 points.

Tasting Notes: Pale yellow with a green rim, crisp and powerful nose with citrus and floral aromas mingling with rose and passion fruit. A chewy, ample palate with refreshing acidity and a harmonious, lingering finish. Technical Notes: Produced in very small quantities, this blend Semillon and Sauvignon from 30 year old vines, harvested at optimal maturity. The musts are protected from oxidation by inert gas during prefermentation maceration and fermented in new oak barrels. The wines remain on full lees for 3-4 weeks with stirring two or three times weekly before being racked and held for two to three months on fine lees with weekly stirring. They are then racked again, blended, fined and cold stabilized before being bottled. - Winery
