Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

The nose reveals some complexity with aromas of strawberry, earth and tar. The entry is soft and smooth and theres an attractive depth to the flavors, but the tannins are a tad coarse at this time. Could be very good with just a little more time. John Perry. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2008 Angelus 1500ml

Château Angélus is located just half a mile from the Saint-Emilion bell tower, on the famous ôpied de côteö, facing due south. Its current consolidation and renovation is the culmination of a commitment made by seven generations of the Boüard de Laforest family. The property owes its name to a plot of vines from which the Angelus bell can be heard ringing at all three local churches: Mazerat Chapel, Saint-Martin de Mazerat church and Saint-Emilion church. Promoted to ôPremier Grand Cru Classéö status, the estate is recognised throughout the world as one of the finest in Saint-Emilion.This success is due to many years of devotion by the same family. Respect for traditional practices in both vineyards and cellar is combined with constant technical progress, so that each vintage is brought to the very summit of perfection.

Winemaker's Notes:

There's no two ways about it; Ch. Angélus is a sexy wine.Super-concentrated ripe, black cherries on the nose lead on to a gloriouspalate of luscious, rich damsons and plums. Big, soft but grainy tannins addstructure and the finish is long and powerful. This isn't exactly adelicate wine but it would be a rewarding buy for any cellar.
