Chassagne Montrachet la Maltroie Bernard Moreau 92 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

"From three parcels aged 24-, 39- and 50+-years-old, the 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru la Maltroie has an expressive and effervescent floral bouquet: citrus fruit, yellow flowers, Clementine and a hint of almond. The palate is crisp on the entry with superb acidity that slices through the intense marmalade-tinged fruit. This has real swagger and wonderful mineral tones toward the finish that fans out. You will be hard pressed to find a Chassagne-Montrachet premier cru better than this in 2013. Chapeau!...92-94"WA 12/2014 "There is a vaguely Viognier-like hint to the dried yellow orchard fruit, mango and lychee nut suffused nose. There is both good volume and intensity to the slightly finer middle weight flavors that deliver fine length on the clean, dry and mildly austere finish. While this will need 2 to 3 years to flesh out it too should drink reasonably well young...89-92" BH 06/15 "Bright, light yellow. More minerally on the nose than the village offering, displaying scents of yellow fruits, spices, mint, menthol and caraway seed. Fine-grained and energetic, conveying an impression of density without weight thanks to its ripe acidity and underlying minerality. The spice and honey flavors carry well on the lively back end...90+?" Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media 09/15
