Chassagne Montrachet Clos du Chateau Maltroye 92vm 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

"Outstanding! A pure and notably floral nose enjoys additional breadth in the form of lemon peel, apple, jasmine tea and discreet spice nuances. There is even more intensity present on the wonderfully refined medium weight flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the beautifully balanced and impressively persistent finale that already exhibits excellent depth. This understated and admirably pure effort is really quite harmonious and should amply reward 5 to 7 years of cellaring...92" BH 06/15 "Very pale straw-yellow. Perfumed, high-pitched aromas of grapefruit, lemon, spearmint and crushed aromatic herbs. Denser and sweeter than the Morgeot, but also more elegant and refined in a Puligny way. The citrus fruit flavors are nicely lifted by white flowers in the mouth, but this very ripe wine comes across as lower in acidity than the Morgeot. Finishes rich, very dry and long. This was 12.7% potential alcohol chaptalized to 13.5%. A terrific showing...92" Stephen Tanzer, VM 9/15
