Chassagne Montrachet Bernard Moreau 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

"It has a delightful bouquet: clean and pure with apricot and light fig scents infusing the citrus fruit. The palate offers commendable weight in the mouth, and as usual, the acidity here is very finely judged and lends the finish impressive tension. It might not have the complexity of Moreau's impressive premier cru, however, there is style and panache about this Chassagne Village, which comes highly recommended...91" WA 12/14 "Outstanding! A pungent nose of resin, pear, apple, petrol and soft floral aromas serves as a nicely complex introduction to the intense and punchy medium-bodied flavors that possess a textured mouth feel thanks to the abundant dry extract. The succulent yet delineated finish delivers both excellent depth and length and this too is worth considering and it's an admirably good Chassagne villages...89" BH 06/15 "Slightly high-toned aromas of peach and spicy oak. Intense peach fruit shows good intensity and sweetness, with nicely ripe acidity for the year. Finishes firm and persistent, with a slight phenolic edge. The crop level was normal here, in the range of 50 to 55 hectoliters per hectare, according to Moreau, who told me he likes the notion of an assemblage as he believes it gives an accurate impression of a village...89" Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media 09/15
