Lovingly nicknamed “Two Buck Chuck” by a member of the wine press, these California wines have become something of a phenomenon in the wine world, and in our stores. - I picked up a bottle of this after reading about the awards it won at the California State Fair. I honestly wasn't all that crazy about it. I drink Chuck's Shiraz pretty regularly, and like it for what it is. The chard just didn't get it done for me. It had a resin flavor that just fouled up the balance. Oddly, after it sat in my fridge for a couple of days after opening, it seemed to taste rounder and was more drinkable.
