100% Cabernet Sauvignon 23 months in 100% new French Barrique 14.7% alcohol Very ripe on the nose with a light note of wood spice accentuating rich black fruits with a candied plum edge and black spice, licorice details. This smells crisp and taut and just a little coy. Just from the nose this is recognizable as the Vintage Selection. It shares something with its long line of predecessors. Nice ripe yet restrained style in the mouth with rich fruit flavors fitted to a lean, focused structure. This shows excellent balance and while still very youthful exhibits nice length with pure cassis fruits that carries over a bit of creaminess from the mid-palate, but finishes with a gently sweetening note of mocha. You can find more impressive Napa Cabs but for my palate his is about as good as Napa Valley Cabernet gets. 2010-2025 93pts

From magnum- This was pumping out pure black currant fruit with a deeply herbaceous almost grassy edge and notes of ace bandage adding complexity. For all it's herbal tones on the nose the palate showed masses of bright, juicy intense fruit with fairly substantial tannins backing up all that richness. The finish is nice and long with black raspberry tones and while this really is a bit simple it is so exuberantly fruity you have to love it if you love Cabernet! 91pts

Since 1944 our Peter Mondavi Family flagship Vintage Selection Cabernet Sauvignon has been crafted only when the vintage is optimum. Multiple clonal selections of cabernet fruit grown primarily on our estate vineyards, go through an extended fermentation for 30 days in small lots.This blend exhibits aromas of black pepper, barrel spice and orange peel while soft supple tannins are married with ripe cherry and rich plum flavors.
