Charles Heidsieck Brut Millésimé 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

Charles-Camille Heidsieck created the Champagne House that bears his name in 1851. From the very beginning Heidsieck’s reputation was prominent throughout the royal houses of Europe; being awarded his first medals during the Universal Exhibition of 1859. Even the Emperor Napoleon III himself was prone to drinking the “high style" and "very dry” Champagne that had been traditionally designed for the British market. The reputation of this Champagne house is still prominent today having been awarded “Winemaker of the Year” seven times by the UK International Wine Challenge. The 2000 Brut Millésimé is elegant in style with great balance of rich, full-flavoured palate and fine aromatic finesse. A perfect tipple to celebrate with loved ones this Christmas. "Notes of apricot and black currant preserves are layered with racy acidity and flavours of grilled nut, pastry cream and candied lemon peel in this creamy, elegant Champagne. Rich and finely balanced, with a vibrant, smoke-tinged finish." 93 pointsAlison Napjus, www.winespectator.com, November 2015
