"Rating: 86/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the October 2010 issue. A little less rich and not so keen on clear fruit in the nose as is the winery's Reserve bottling
Rating: 91/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the October 2010 issue. Here is a confident, fully ripened, no-nonsense Chardonnay that combines a wealth of keen, apple-like fruit with well-measured oak, and it does so with a fine sense of balance. Big-bodied, but not at all overbearing and showing more than enough richness and depth to counter its slight drift to finishing heat, it is a fine example of what California does best. It is easy to taste now but will not fade away any time soon, and it should be tagged for drinking with the likes of well-seasoned salmon or richly sauced lobster preparations.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Further bottle aging can improve this wine.
Rating: 86/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the October 2010 issue. A little less rich and not so keen on clear fruit in the nose as is the winery's Reserve bottling, this relatively simple, slightly juicy version starts out on the palate well enough, but its attractive themes of sweet apples waver as grapefruity coarseness and a bit of heat make their appearance, and it finishes with a twist of unneeded bitterness.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Further bottle aging can improve this wine.
A complex array of sweet tropical fruit, lychee, pineapple and musk melon, with a hint of caramel and toast. Cinnamon, vanilla and ginger add layers or complexity and richness. Sweet lemon and peach at entry, with a core of passion fruit, grilled pineapple and red apple.
Farbe: Goldenes gelb; Bouquet: Frisch, intensiv und komplex, mineralische Noten, Anflug von Honig und Noten von Agrumen, schöner Reifeton; Gaumen: Ausgewogenes Säurespiel, frisch, im Abgang Noten nach Butter und Röstaromen.
Winemaker Notes - Aroma: A complex array of sweet tropical fruit, lychee, pineapple and musk melon, with a hint of caramel and toast. Cinnamon, vanilla and ginger add layers or complexity and richness. Palate: Sweet lemon and peach at entry, with a core of passionfruit, grilled pineapple and red apple. The flavor builds with layers of vanilla, whipped cream and brown sugar. Rich and concentrated flavors finish smooth with a hint of lingering nutmeg spice.
