Winemaker's Notes:

THE WINE This is the wine to choose when you’re looking for vivid, mouth‐filling fruit flavors. Mountain Cuvee is a winemaker’s blend that beautifully expresses the distinctive qualities of the traditional Bordeaux varietals, crafted for early consumption. Each component making up the cuvee contributes nuances that mingle with and complement each other. The result is a complex array of aromas and flavors that deliver pure pleasure in a glass. GROWING SEASON & HARVEST The 2005 growing season was one of the longest and coolest seasons in recent memory. Budbreak occurred in March, followed by a long bloom and set, creating a hefty crop. The unseasonably cool, wet spring spurred vigorous growth in the vineyard, necessitating canopy management and fruit thinning to ensure proper ripening of the grapes. Mild, even weather prevailed into September, allowing for a lengthy harvest. TASTING NOTES Vibrant aromas of blackberry, black cherry, dried fruit, and baking spices jump from the glass. In the mouth the wine is rich in dark fruit flavors, with hints of mocha and roasted coffee beans. Full, fairly big tannins are well integrated in the body and fruit character.
