Strong fruity aroma. Slightly acidic at first taste and mellows over time. Leaves a pleasing aftertaste.
Not sure what happened with this wine, could've been some improper storage behind how this wine showed, but it was too oaky, and I didn't get much vibrance from the cabernet sauvignon. Will wait a while on my next bottle, maybe this still needs to get integrated further.
Spent time at the Chappellet winery. One of the gems of wine country. This wine had vibrant fruit flavors and a small hint of chocolate.

92 Points - Wine Spectator"Chappellet winery always seems to over-deliver on quality for the price, thanks in large part to the estates 100 acres of vines on Pritchard Hill, high above Napa Valley. The 2007 is a blend of 51 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 46 percent Merlot, with a dash of Malbec, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The wine is rich and seamlessly mouthfilling yet complex and beautifully structured. Its ready to drink in the short term it brought out the best in the beef but will do fine in the cellar for a few years. I rated it 92 points, non-blind. It sells for $29, a bargain by most Napa standards."This is the wine to choose when youre looking for vivid, mouth-filling fruit flavors. Vibrant aromas of blackberry, black cherry, dried fruit, and baking spices jump from the glass. In the mouth the wine is rich in dark fruit flavors, with hints of mocha and roasted coffee beans. Full, fairly big tannins are well integrated in the body and fruit character.

Dark cherry and blackberry mixed with coffee, cedar and spice make for a compelling nose. A dark, deeply colored wine that is black at the core with a brilliant purple rim. The nose offers a bouquet of violets, lavender, and sage, as well as secondary aromas of coffee, crushed rocks, and black pepper. Chewy on the palate--rich and compl... John Sweeney.
