Chapoutier Luberon 2011

Member Review by Terence Pang:

AUD$13. This easy-drinking blend of Grenache and Syrah has an intense ruby colour with a slight watery rim. It has a youthful nose of cherry, dark berries, bramble and nutmeg. A med+ bodied wine with a smooth texture and high acidity. 14% alc. Soft chewy tannins buffer the dark berry fruit flavours with a touch of dried herb on the finish. Have with a chunky tomato salad with grilled chorizo slices. Drink now – 2015.

M. Chapoutier:
The name CHAPOUTIER is present in the Rhône Valley since 1808. In 1879, the distant ancestor Polydor CHAPOUTIER was the first to begin to buy vines, thus moving from the status of wine-grower of an estate to that of a viticulturist, a wine producer and a businessman. The pioneering spirit was already present in the family.
