M. Chapoutier:
The name CHAPOUTIER is present in the Rhône Valley since 1808. In 1879, the distant ancestor Polydor CHAPOUTIER was the first to begin to buy vines, thus moving from the status of wine-grower of an estate to that of a viticulturist, a wine producer and a businessman. The pioneering spirit was already present in the family.

A muscular wine that still achieves great elegance, with restrained ripe plum, tobacco and tar flavors. The tannins are huge, but the wine is balanced. Best after 1998. Wine Spectator. A Syrah wine from Rhone in France. 1990 Chapoutier Cote Rotie la Mordoree 1500ml

External Review

The saturated dark ruby/purple color is followed by an awesome nose that offers copious quantities of sweet black fruits, flowers, toasty new oak, and smoky bacon fat. In the mouth there is superb concentration, a sweet, expansive texture, and a mind-boggling, long finish. This lavishly rich Cote Rotie, which is already delicious, is capable of lasting for 10-15 years.
