The color of this wine is a translucent violet. The nose first gives you the scent of alcohol (it is a 14% wine) followed by chocolate and cherry. The taste starts with a dark cherry which quickly slides to a spicy, peppery finish that doesn't linger on the palate. It is a well balanced, big wine that would be great with a pasta with a heavy red sauce.

I absolutely loved this wine. I was in the mood for a french wine and we got a bottle of this one from 2004. Absolutely perfect. I am going to try some of the other products from this winery.

Its a very comforting wine that really does taste of rich spice and as the previous reviewer wrote, it does not linger. I had a bottle of this with my wife over a southern style beans dish that was perfect. Definitely a good wine.
