This is also sufficiently reduced that it is hard to read the nose but it would appear that the underlying fruit is notably ripe. There is an elegant mouth feel to the mineral-driven and admirably pure medium-bodied flavors that possess outstanding depth and length and the very firmly structured finish. This is a beautiful effort but note that it would best be purchased only by the very patient. Burghound.
Bright full medium red. Knockout nose shows an almost candied character to the aromas of strawberry cherry dark berries lavender menthol and Indian spices. Dense suave and juicy with a distinctly silky texture to the broad flavors of red fruits menthol and spices. Utterly seamless suave classically dry Chapelle with outstanding energy and definition. Still tight today but the wine s fine-grained tannins and superb breadth and length suggest that it will make a great bottle a decade hence. Stephen Tanzers IWC.
"The 2011 Chapelle-Chambertin from Maison Jadot is exceptional, offering up a refined bouquet of red and black cherries, a bit of pomegranate, gamebirds, a beautifully complex base of soil, a touch of nutskin, fresh herbs and a judicious framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and nascently complex, with a sappy core, very refined tannins, superb focus and great length and grip on the young and very classy finish. This will be a terrific bottle of Chapelle, but it will need at least a dozen years to really hit its apogee...94" JG 01/13
