Chanson Père et Fils Pernand-Vergelesses les Caradeux Premiere Cru 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

With a history dating back to 1750, this fine Domaine was founded during the reign of Louis XV. When the Chanson family took full control in the 1800s, they already had substantial holdings in Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune and Pernand-Vergelesses, which they added to the business. Ownership of some of the top Premiers and Grands Crus vineyards in Burgundy remains a priority for the house. Their 45 hectare Domaine is managed by Gilles de Courcel and his experienced, dedicated team. Winemaker Jean-Pierre Confuron of the celebrated Vosne-Romanée dynasty continues to improve quality selection of fruit and the refurbished Bastion de l’Oratoire in Beaune is now home to a state of the art fermentation room as well as being the perfect environment for gentle maturation of their crus. Domaine Chanson Pouilly-Fuissé shows pale yellow, offering beautiful white flower fragrances mixed with pale fleshed fruit and honey with a delicate vanilla note. The body is dense and well-structured with delicate minerality and well-balanced acidity while the finish is deliciously long and refreshing. It is a brilliantly versatile white wine, easy to pair with fish, cooked pork meat, charcuterie ("jambon persillé"), white meat and some goat cheeses, so enjoy!
