Winemaker's Notes:

With a history dating back to 1750, this fine Domaine was founded during the reign of Louis XV. When the Chanson family took full control in the 1800s, they already had substantial holdings in Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune and Pernand-Vergelesses, which they added to the business. Ownership of some of the top Premiers and Grands Crus vineyards in Burgundy remains a priority for the house. Their 45 hectare Domaine is managed by Gilles de Courcel and his experienced, dedicated team. Winemaker Jean-Pierre Confuron of the celebrated Vosne-Romanée dynasty continues to improve quality selection of fruit and the refurbished Bastion de l’Oratoire in Beaune is now home to a state of the art fermentation room as well as being the perfect environment for gentle maturation of their crus. Domaine Chanson Mâcon-Villages shows a fantastically pale gold colour with delicate floral fragrances and a mineral note. It is both well balanced and deliciously crisp with good acidity and subtle minerality, followed by a satisfying and refreshing finish. This Chardonnay is very versatile making it a brilliant partner to charcuterie, fish and all sorts of mild cheeses.
