User Reviews for Chanson Beaune 'Clos de Mouches' Blanc Premier Cru

Winemaker's Notes:

This wine is available for EN PRIMEUR purchase ONLY. With a history dating back to 1750, this fine Domaine was founded during the reign of Louis XV. When the Chanson family took full control in the 1800s, they already had substantial holdings in Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune and Pernand-Vergelesses, which they added to the business. Ownership of some of the top Premiers and Grands Crus vineyards in Burgundy remains a priority for the house. Their 45 hectare Domaine is managed by Gilles de Courcel and his experienced, dedicated team. Winemaker Jean-Pierre Confuron of the celebrated Vosne-Romanée dynasty continues to improve quality selection of fruit and the refurbished Bastion de l’Oratoire in Beaune is now home to a state of the art fermentation room as well as being the perfect environment for gentle maturation of their crus. Beaune Clos des Mouches shows a stunning pale gold colour with refined floral Fragrances mixed with green almond and honey. Subtle minerality and delicate oak note combine with a good grip and good structure to create a dense, well -balanced and onctuous wine. There is also well-shaped acidity and delicate oak notes in this fabulous Chardonnay. It will be especially enjoyable with foie gras, seafood and goat's cheese, so tuck in.
