Such a refreshing, light and delicate style of Syrah. All the flavor without the usual heaviness. The Dornfelder adds a great earthy, bright fruit balance. Would be wonderful with a slight chill so you can get your red wine on even in humid weather. So appreciate the uniqueness of this.

    Cool climate syrah Black pepper, violet, delicateness to it on the nose Really delicious, varying red and dark fruit with this yummy pepper coarsing through, brighty earthy not to fruity, balanced, very subtle spice from the pepper notes, really enjoyed this one, nice lingering palate too

    Another winner from winemaker Christopher Tracy, this red blend highlighting Syrah is light and spicy with mocha coffee on the nose and juicy fruit and black pepper on the palate. It has long lingering flavors with a tasty touch of tannin on the end.

    All the fruit was hand-harvested, de-stemmed into one ton bins, stomped on by foot and punched down by hand. The wine was racked to barrels, hogsheads and puncheons (23% were new, 77% were old) where it spent eight months before a light filtration and gravity bottling

    Tasting Notes:

    Our 2009 Due Uve is a translucent ruby red color with purple inflections. The wine is dry, medium-bodied and juicy, has moderate alcohol and is fresh and delicious. There are floral, fruit, mineral and spice components that comprise the flavor and aroma profiles. Violets, black pepper, raspberry, blackberry, cherry, wet stone, cocoa and cinnamon are descriptors that come to mind but more often than not you smell and taste something new each time you re-visit the glass. This wine possesses lightness and elegance but is robust and rustic enough to tackle some exotic flavor experiences.
