Chandon Etoile Brut Rose Domestic NV
PHILOSOPHY In keeping with the style we established more than thirty years ago, Chandon has captured the expression of Californa’s vineyards in Brut Classic. Made using méthode traditionnelle, this wine goes through second fermentation in the bottle and is made from the traditional Champagne varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Our house signature style, Chandon Brut Classic consistently displays apple and pear flavors and aromas with a hint of spice that leads to a soft, dry finish. To ensure the continuity of style and quality that has made Chandon one of America’s classic sparkling wines, our Brut Classic is blended with ten to twenty percent Reserve wines from prior harvests. TASTING NOTES Classic balance typifies this refreshingly soft, yet dry wine. The wine delivers complex apple and pear characteristics accented by citrus spice over notes of almond and caramel in the bouquet. When you taste Brut Classic, look for nutty flavors with hints of brioche that build to a refreshingly dry finish. FOOD AND WINE PAIRING Winemaker Tom Tiburzi recommends serving Chandon Brut Classic to refresh the palate when eating salty, creamy, or nutty foods such as Caesar salad, fried calamari, oysters, or fresh sashimi and sushi. Domaine Chandon is one of the most recommended wineries in the Napa Valley, and the only one with its own 4-star restaurant. The winery established its reputation with sparkling wines, and in 1989, the winery began crafting still wines from the classic Champagne varietals Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.

This is my wifes go to sparkler. It has a good balance of yeast / toast and acidity.

Had at a tasting from a 187ml bottle; the nose had a bit of a barnyard funk to it (surprised me) with a hint of strawberry underneath. That was gone on the palate, however, which featured strawberry and cranberry notes. Dry.
Very fruity, light sweetness, medium body, good acid. Simple.
Chandon did well with this "sur lie" bottling. Dry, fruity, satisfying. Grapes from ours were from the 2001 harvest (opened 2009). American buyers may have been mystified by the crown "bottle-cap" seal (in lieu of cork). The label was dark and difficult to read. It was a slow mover - - we got 5 bottles posted off at $17.88 each.

Sleek and rich, with a light salmon hue and floral apricot and strawberry aromas. The flavors are supple, yet crisp and well-structured, with cherry, peach and spiced almond notes. Drink now through 2016.
Crisp yet full-bodied, with spicy and floral watermelon aromas and racy, mature flavors of citrus, guava and fresh ginger. Drink now through 2015.
"The Chandon Etoile Rose wines aromas are rich and complex - floral notes with Santa Rosa plum
Creamy, with citrus, cherry, herb and mineral flavors on the palate. Itandrsquo;s fresh, clean and focused, though a bit reserved for a wine with this much lees contact. Classy nonetheless.
Good price for a brisk, clean and elegant rosandeacute; sparkling wine. With a pretty copper color, it offers raspberry, strawberry and toast flavors. The finish is dry and honeyed at the same time.
Dark in color and full-bodied, this is a big, heavy sparkling wine based on Pinot Noir. It has flavors of cherries, raspberries, red currants, cola and anise, in a silky, crisp texture with yeasty notes.
